Minimum Qualifications Include:

Job Description:  

 Crossnore School & Children's Home, a 100+-year old Christian children's home with two campuses in western North Carolina, is seeking mission-minded married couples or individuals, without dependent children for our live-in Cottage Parent position.  Rawhide is a faith-based residential treatment center that has been in the business of helping at-risk youth for over 40 years. During these 40 years, Houseparents have been an integral part in ministering to the unique needs of the youth that we serve.
Rawhide works with male youth ages 13-17. Most of the youth we work with are court ordered to treatment with us. However, we do offer one "voluntary placement" program for youth that are not currently under court order to receive treatment.
Over the years, our youth indicate that the relationship they have formed with their Houseparents as a key motivating factor for their successful physical, social, and spiritual development.
Houseparents administrate the homes they live in. They are responsible for maintaining a cohesive family unit and maintaining communication with parents, workers, and guardians. They identify spiritual needs, correct negative behavior, tutor, plan activities and events, counsel/advise and teach the students to work through daily problems that may come up in the course of a day.
