Our growing program is seeking individuals and /or couples who desire to make a
sincere difference in the lives of the children we serve. Our major daily responsibility
is providing direct care for children age birth to 21 in State custody who are victims of
abuse, neglect and dependency. Our workers prvide care for the children / youth's
daily needs in a parental role as in a family style model. We are seeking caring
individuals who will provide care for children and youths in this homelike environment
structured with nurturing care and compassion. This position requires live in 14 days on

Duties include:

The House Parents (HPs) have primary responsibility for the supervision and
mentoring of youth residents. The successful HPs ensure that youth attend classes and
maintain a home-like nurturing environment while establishing youth home family rituals
and traditions. The HPs build trust and provide consistent emotional support through
praise, affection, and empathy. The HPs recognize youth achievement while setting limits
for behavior and goals for the future. The HPs model appropriate decision making and
critical thinking strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Knowledge. A Bachelor's degree in Social Service area and experience
working with at-risk youth required; house parent or foster parent experience preferred.
Some knowledge of and ability to use computers.
Experience and Skills. Experience working with at-risk youth required, house parent or

possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
Driver's License. Must have a valid Idaho's driver's license or obtain one

Physical Condition. Must be in good health as certified by a physician within 30 days of
hire. Must have the physical ability to perform essential job duties and

Other. Must be at least 25 years of age. Must be a married couple married a minimum of 2
years, and have not more than two (2) children residing with them. Must not have a
criminal record, or must obtain a criminal history clearance via Idaho Department of

Job Description: |
The King's Ranch, a Christian facility for boys and girls in Shelby County, Alabama, seeking married couples to fill Family-Teaching Parent positions. Our facility is located about 20 minutes south of Birmingham, Alabama. We have individual homes on our campuses (four on boys, three on girls) and our campuses are about eight miles apart. Each home has a built in apartment where the Family-Teaching Parent couples live. Each home serves between six to eight youth between the ages of 10 to 18 years. Each couple receives two days off per week (every other week those two days would be on the weekend). Each home has an Associate assigned to assist the Family-Teaching Parent couples.
You are hired as a couple, paid separately. The Ministry pays your health and dental insurance ($16,644 at this time per year/per family). Other benefits offered. You live on campus for free. The only out-of-pocket expense you have is your personal items. You must be at least 25 years of age, married at least two years, and have clear driving and criminal backgrounds.
