Other Houseparents

How do you deal with other houseparents who aren't necessarily enthused with their job and thus make it harder for the other houseparents?

Good question!

Personally, I try to encourage them as much as possible. If they don't take the encouragement/advice then I move on. It is hard to be around people who are negative so I am polite but don't fuel the fire if you KWIM.

I would try to be as polite as I can to them while doing my best to avoid them.

I have learned that I canned worry about other houseparents and how they do their job.

The only thing I can concern myself with are the situations involving the children I care for, and what my administrators expects of me.

Ask them why they don't look for another job if they are so unhappy.

My hubby tells me to do my job and don't worry what the other houseparents do or not do.

I was stressed out wayyyyyy too much because I thought the other hp didn't enforce rules and didn't have the best intentions for the kids. When suggesting new ways to guide kids, I just get blown off so now I just be the best I can be and try to quietly lead my example. I'm a crusader and sometimes nobody wants one of those around.
