Job Description:  

Florida location: Live in married couple wanted for Christian children's home. Girls' & Boys' program with various ages need a Christian couple to live in with the children and perform House parent duties, such as: oversee children, paperwork, incident reports, cooking, shopping, oversee chores, work with difficult behaviors, work with the families of the children, attend meetings, trainings and more.

Most of the children will be placed by DCF and our program will be under State of Florida guidelines for a residential care.

You must have at least two years experience working with abused, abandoned and/or neglected children, sexual abuse issues, rejection issues, anger, trauma, and other serious behaviors.
Applicants must be able to pass all level two background screenings, driver's license clearance, health clearance, drug testing, driver's safety check, CPR/first aid, and good moral character recommendations.

We are looking for a mature couple, married, Christian, patient, willing to work with difficult behaviors, dedicated, teachable, and willing to care for these precious children that need an adult role model.

Job Description:  

Schedule: Full-time (8 days on, 3 days off)

Responsibilities:
HEALTH & WELLNESS
• Responsible for the development of resonant relationships with each assigned child,
exercising major responsibility for the development of earned security and socialemotional
growth through attachment-based parenting methods. Counsels children to
alleviate and address personal and family difficulties.
• Participates in Circle of Security parent consultations and related development practices
for personal awareness and growth
• Promotes a sense of belonging for children in care through active participation in campus
and community engagement activities.
FAMILY MANAGEMENT
• Assists with the planning and implementation of weekly menu plan.
• Implements housekeeping program as defined by the primary houseparents, with the
assistance of age appropriate children for the development of a healthy work ethic and
responsibility. Maintains standards of cottage cleanliness daily.
• Promotes sense of community contribution with children in care through assistance with
maintaining the exterior grounds around the cottage and within determined areas of
responsibility on campus.

FAMILY MANAGEMENT
• Assists with the planning and implementation of weekly menu plan.

Job Description:  

 GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Houseparents model a healthy family as they care for the residents residing at Nancy K. Perry Children's Shelter (NKPCS). They provide a loving, safe, therapeutic environment that encourages each resident to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Within a structured home environment, they ensure a holistic approach to nurturing each child.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED, plus at least 3 years experience of working with children or teens. At least twenty-five years of age. Must pass a background check. Able to become First Aid and CPR qualified.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Model upstanding morals, ethics, attitudes and conduct.
• Provide unconditional love, acceptance, respect, trust, honesty and procedural justice in the treatment for each child.
• Available to the child for mentoring at all times and coordinate guidance with the Treatment Plan of NKPCS.
• Demonstrate correction and leadership in following the policy/procedures and behavioral program of NKPCS.
• Participate in the activities of each child: school, sports, music, etc.
• Work closely with NKPCS Child Care staff on any significant experiences, attitudes or emotional problems of the child.
• Provide formal and informal opportunities for play and recreational time.
• Plan and serve meals and provide for the family to eat together.
• Provide a structured environment to accommodate the educational needs of each child.
• Teach the child the Independent Living Skills appropriate for his/her age.
• Ensure compliance with medications management
• Manages program schedules (Menu, recreational activities, etc.) and mentor and volunteer schedules.
• Complete the required documentation for each child including, progress notes, critical incidents, weekly updates, etc.
• House dads assist the facility manager three days a week
