Job Description:  

Do you have a passion for helping young boys? Do you feel called to the mission field of hurting youth from hard places? Freedom Gates Boys Ranch is a non-profit organization looking for house parents to teach, guide, and assist in the healing of up to 8 boys.

On-site and off-site training will be provided on how to help aid in the healing of people that have been through trauma.
All our boys need to know that they are loved, valued, and have a choice. Houseparents are on the front lines of showing the transforming love of Christ to boys that need to see that love in action.

Houseparents will be a surrogate family to young men who will live on campus for no less than 18 months. During this time the Houseparents will show the love of Christ, show the grace of Christ, and witness the power of Christ to change the heart and heal the hurts.

Job Description:  

Seeking a responsible, caring, married couple to become our Primary House Parents. Located in Ellensburg, Washington (2 hours east of Seattle and home to Central Washington University). This home was specifically designed and created to promote independent living for young men with developmental disabilities. Our care philosophy emphasizes encouragement and positive reinforcement with respect for each resident. House Parents are responsible for overseeing the residents' established daily routines while caring for the residents in the home.

House Parents work directly with residents in their homes providing personal care, cooking, transportation, behavior support, and assistance with maintaining the home. They reside in the newly remodeled home with the residents. The House Parents are licensed employees of Washington and provide care for the residents. The position is on-duty for 3 weeks and off-duty for one week each month.

Starting wage equates to approximately up to $62,400.00 per year (tax-exempt) per couple with 4 residents in the home. In addition, housing, transportation and food is provided. PTO is accrued at a rate of 1 hour for 40 hours worked. The property, building, and vehicle, are non-smoking and pet free. Schedule is 3 weeks on and 1 week off residing in and supporting the home. Duty-free time off each weekday is approximately 5-6 hours when residents are in the greater community.

Must meet the training requirements to become a Washington State Individual Care Provider (IP). Each houseparent will complete 75 hours of paid training trough the state as well as on-site training. Employment contingent upon the results of Washington State background check and acceptable references. Must have a valid Driver's License. Experience working with developmentally disable. You would need to be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties detailed in the resident's care plans, which include individual personal hygiene, meal planning, cooking (mostly Paleo), light housework and light yard maintenance.

Job Description:  

Carolina Youth Development Center is seeking a married couple or individual persons to fill the important role of Independent Living Family Teacher(s).
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Supervisor's Title: Vice President of Residential Services
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment with optimal learning for abused/neglected youth. Independent Living Family Teachers work in a structured, home-like environment and are responsible for providing emotional, physical, intellectual, and psychological support to clients. Independent Living Family Teachers are responsible for teaching life skills to youth aging out of the foster care system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Family Teacher will provide youth with a caring environment in which to grow and learn; model and teach social skills, self-help skills, academic skills, and independent living skills; foster the moral and spiritual development of youth; administer the day-to-day operations of a large family residence; supervise and work with other professional Family Teachers in carrying out responsibilities; and maintain confidentiality of youth and program information. The Family Teacher is provided a private living area to sleep, shower, and spend time when they are not on duty and to receive personal visitors. The Family Teacher will model healthy grocery shopping with the residents as well as model independence by making their own healthy meals in the kitchen. Food, entertainment, household items, supplies, and utilities will be paid for by Carolina Youth Development Center as the Family Teacher lives in and manages the group home.
The Family Teacher will be responsible to care for up to 10 residents, aged 17-21. Initiates and ensures completion of daily activities related to maintenance of resident schedules including completion of chores, laundry, food service/meals. Initiates reports that improve the safety and security of the building. Actively takes steps to improve physical environment in order to increase the therapeutic nature of the program. Effectively assists Associate Vice President of Residential Services in coordinating all aspects of the day-to-day program operations. Initiates proactive problem solving to improve client care services. Follows policies and procedures and adhere to licensing and auditing standards. Ensures facility cleanliness. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
